Gulf Petroleum To Appoint 2 New Directors
Gulf Petroleum (M) Sdn Bhd, which has secured approval to develop an integrated oil and gas complex in Malaysia,will appoint two new directors to its board.
The new board members are Dr Omar Zuhair Abdulgader Hafiz from Saudi Arabia and Dr Haitham Isa Abdulrazaq Qasim Al-Qahtani from Bahrain,the company said in a statement.
Omar has served various reputable Islamic financial institutions in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain,including director of Islamic Banks' Office at the Islamic Development Bank(IDB).
He helped set Allied Cooperative Insurance Group in Saudi Arabia (owned by a consortium of investors led by IDB) where he is now the president.
Haitham,meanwhile previously served with the Bahrain National Oil Company and the Economic Development Board of the Government of Bahrain. He developed a number of refinery projects and petrochemical plants within the countries under the Gulf Cooperation Council.
He also served the University of Bahrain as a directors to the Energy Research Centre, as a gas coordinator of Bahrain National gas committee and as an adviser to the Ministry of Oil and Industry of Bahrain.
